April 2026 Sydney to Auckland Trip
We completed a comfortable 1,150nm passage from Sydney to Opua, New Zealand, in a shade over seven days. It was a fantastic run with a solid crew—Claude, Kell, and Maisy—bringing us safely to our first port of entry. After clearing in, Matt and Jase slowed the pace to explore the Bay of Islands (once known as the "Hell Hole of the South Pacific") and Auckland. We’ve balanced a bit of sightseeing with essential boat maintenance, ensuring that Wind Shift is delivered fully prepared for the upcoming legs to Tonga.
March 2026 Sydney to Nelson Bay Trip
With thanks to the fantastic crew; Anja, Claude, Doreen, Gordon, Hannah and Ref, that made the adventure to Nelson Bay so memorable. A special mention for the exceptional skill in our man-over-board drill.
December 2025 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race
To an amazing race crew; David, Dee, Denise, Jacq, Kel and Rick, who through our training, gelled to an excellent team. We wore the tough conditions with ease, however, we suffered a knock-down which damaged our yankee (headsail), forcing us to retire. On the up-side we did discover the hospitality of the locals from Flinders Island.
