6 Oct 2026 - 21 Oct 2026
(16 days)

Embark on a 1,000 NM sail of the secluded and adventurous paradise of Micronesia. Its coasts range from low-lying coral atolls to dramatic volcanic islands, all surrounded by some of the clearest waters on Earth. It's a world-class destination for divers, with Chuuk Lagoon serving as the "Wreck Diving Capital of the World," and Yap and Pohnpei offering encounters with majestic manta rays. Beyond diving, the calm lagoons are perfect for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, and the deep waters provide excellent fishing. On the larger islands, rugged trails lead through dense jungles to stunning waterfalls and ancient ruins like Nan Madol, a UNESCO World Heritage site known as the "Venice of the Pacific." This trip offers a perfect blend of water-based excitement and rewarding land exploration.

What to Expect: Micronesia Cruising

The Final Frontier of the Pacific

Cruising Micronesia is like stepping back in time. This is not a region of resorts and manicured beaches; it is a sprawling wilderness of 600 islands scattered across the North Pacific. On this expedition, we navigate the "Low Islands"—pristine coral atolls where the palm trees sit just feet above the breaking surf and the lagoons are a thousand shades of blue.

Life on Board

The Daily Rhythm

Who is this for?

  • Atoll Navigation: Cruising Micronesia is a masterclass in pilotage. You’ll stand on the bow with the crew, learning to "read the water" as we navigate narrow reef passes into protected lagoons. It’s hands-on, technical, and incredibly rewarding sailing.

  • Island Hopping & Exploration: Because we are on a self-sufficient 70ft expedition yacht, we can reach the outer atolls that planes and cargo ships simply cannot. You’ll spend your days kayaking through mangrove forests, paddleboarding over glass-calm lagoons, and visiting remote villages where traditional wayfinding is still a way of life.

  • Intimate & Flexible: With no fixed cruise-ship itineraries, we follow the weather and the whim of the group. If we find a particularly vibrant reef or a welcoming village, we drop the hook and stay a while.

  • Underwater Discovery: Micronesia offers some of the clearest water on Earth. Expect 30-meter+ visibility as you snorkel over untouched coral gardens, WWII plane wrecks, and vibrant drop-offs teeming with reef sharks and manta rays.

  • Cultural Immersion: We often visit islands where the local community still practices ancient traditions. You’ll have the chance to meet local chiefs, learn about the famous "Stone Money," and experience the genuine, warm hospitality of the FSM people.

  • Sundowners in Paradise: Evenings are spent at anchor in perfectly still lagoons. You’ll enjoy fresh meals on deck, surrounded by nothing but the sound of the reef and the most vivid starlight you’ve ever witnessed.

This trip is for the off-the-beaten-path explorer. It’s perfect for snorkelers, photographers, and those who find peace in extreme isolation. If you prefer a hammock on a deserted sandbank over a crowded hotel pool, and if you want to see the Pacific exactly as the early explorers found it, this cruising leg is for you.
