(21 days)

Embark on an incredible 1,600 NM sail from Solomon Islands to Micronesia. It is a journey to a secluded and adventurous paradise where we will spend several weeks exploring. The coasts range from low-lying coral atolls to dramatic volcanic islands, all surrounded by some of the clearest waters on Earth. It's a world-class destination for divers, with Chuuk Lagoon serving as the "Wreck Diving Capital of the World," and Yap and Pohnpei offering encounters with majestic manta rays. Beyond diving, the calm lagoons are perfect for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, and the deep waters provide excellent fishing. On the larger islands, rugged trails lead through dense jungles to stunning waterfalls and ancient ruins like Nan Madol, offering a perfect blend of water-based excitement and rewarding land exploration.

What to Expect: Solomon Islands to Micronesia

Crossing the Line: A True Oceanic Milestone

Sailing from the Solomon Islands to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) is a significant nautical undertaking. The highlight of this voyage is crossing the Equator. As we transition from the Southern to the Northern Hemisphere, you’ll join the elite ranks of "Shellbacks"—sailors who have crossed the line under sail—and participate in a time-honored maritime tradition.

Life on Board

The Daily Rhythm

Who is this for?

  • The Ultimate Blue-Water Passage: This leg is for those who love the rhythm of the open sea. As an active crew member, you’ll be deeply involved in the passage-making process: navigating the "Doldrums" (the Intertropical Convergence Zone), managing sail trim in light airs and tropical squalls, and standing watch as the constellations of the South disappear to be replaced by the North Star.

  • Seamanship & Skill Building: Under the guidance of our professional skipper, you will learn the nuances of tropical meteorology and ocean current navigation. This is a hands-on learning environment where you’ll gain the confidence to handle a 70ft yacht in the deep ocean.

  • Offshore Community: Life on board becomes a tight-knit shared experience. Between watches, there is time for ocean photography, reading, and enjoying fresh, chef-prepared meals as we traverse one of the loneliest—and most beautiful—stretches of water on Earth.

  • The Crossing: The 5-to-7 day passage is a masterclass in disconnection. Without the distractions of the modern world, your senses sharpen to the sound of the hull through the water and the sight of bioluminescence trailing in our wake at night.

  • The Arrival (Micronesia): Our landfall in Micronesia feels like discovering a lost world. We leave behind the high volcanic peaks of the Solomons for the classic "Blue Lagoon" geography of FSM.

  • Atoll Exploration: Once we reach Micronesia, the pace slows. We’ll navigate narrow passes into turquoise lagoons, where you can snorkel over pristine coral gardens and visit remote island communities that rarely see outsiders.

This trip is for the dedicated adventurer. It is ideal for sailors looking to log significant blue-water miles and for those who find beauty in the vastness of the horizon. If you’ve ever dreamed of crossing the Equator and exploring islands that most people can't find on a map, this "Equator Crossing" expedition is your calling.
