Why Harvest & Horizons?

  • Taste the Remote: A highly personal and masterful culinary experience from the award winning chef, Christopher Howe. After a hard day's sailing or hiking, Christopher will delight you with sophisticated and unique dishes, using local produce, to highlight the region we are anchored in. As a crew member, you'll be the sous chef to Christopher, learning firsthand how he creates his amazing dishes.

  • Sailing That Soothes: Glide aboard Wind Shift, your 70-ft steel ketch, deep into the heart of Tasmania’s untamed far southwest.

  • Trails & Tides: Hike Mt. Milner, paddle calm inlets, or wander wild beaches—all framed by the vastness of World Heritage wilderness.

  • Immersive & Intimate: Just 10 guests for a cozy, immersive expedition experience.

Christopher Howe – Chef, Restaurateur, Sailor

Christopher blends great local food, exceptional wine, and salty adventure into every journey. A photographer-turned-restaurateur-turned-winemaker with a chef’s palate and a love of wild places, he’s just as happy handcrafting a galley feast as he is grinding a winch. Based out of Royal Geelong crewing on a Cookson 50, with offshore racing experience including the Sydney to Hobart in 2023 and 2024, M2H, M2D, and thousands of miles aboard Wind Shift with Matt throughout New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia, he well knows and respects the magic of the sea. Whether swapping stories over shared meals or hiking the rugged trails of southwest Tasmania, Christopher lives for connecting with people through food and wine, and exploring the edges of the map through sailing.
